Kozhikode boys’ school opens its doors to girls after 233 years

St Joseph's Higher Secondary School in Kerala's Kozhikode will open its classrooms to girls, ending its 233-year run as an exclusively boys' institution. Girls will be admitted to Class 11 from the 2026-27 academic year and to Class 5 from the 2027-28 academic year in a phased manner. The school currently has over 24,000 students from Classes 5 to 12.
