The Karnataka police, on Tuesday, 16 January, suspended two police officers, including the police inspector of the Hangal Town Police Station, in connection with the 8 January Hangal moral policing and gang rape case that was registered based on a complaint from a 26-year-old woman. The officers were found errant in collecting information and negligent in registering a timely FIR.
