A resident of Raghunathpur in Kullu district has increased his earnings, while contributing to environmental conservation, by adopting the first e-rickshaw of the district under a state government initiative. Surinder Verma, who previously operated a petrol-powered auto-rickshaw, says that the switch over to e-rickshaw has significantly reduced his operating cost.
