The Ladakh administration on Monday announced that autonomous hill development councils will be set up in all seven districts after customising Article 371. The administration has also proposed a UT-level elected body with legislative, executive, financial and administrative powers. Currently only Leh and Kargil districts have hill development councils, set up in 1995 and 2003, respectively.
