The 'Hoba Meteorite' discovered in Namibia in 1920 remains the largest known space rock on Earth. Weighing about 60,000 kg, Hoba lies intact at its impact point having no preserved crater around it. Scientists believe the meteorite's flat shape could be responsible for its low impact velocity. Based on its nickel deposits, it was dated back to 200-400 million years.
