Pune Rural Police launched a six-month pilot deploying three TruCam II laser speed cameras on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway near Lonavala and Vadgaon Maval. Capable of tracking speeds up to 320 kmph day/night, they capture evidence of speeding, helmet violations, and mobile use. Partnered with Global Road Safety Partnership, the project targets fatal crashes after training 40 officers.
