A law graduate becomes a lawyer, and after Bar Council registration and clearing the AIBE becomes an advocate who can represent clients in court. Advocates with required experience and training may clear the Advocate-on-Record exam to appear in the Supreme Court. States have an Advocate General, while the Centre has the Attorney General assisted by the Solicitor General.
