A lawyer apologised to a judge in US' San Francisco for including "phantom" quotations generated by AI in a court filing related to President Donald Trump ​administration's firing of government employees. He used Anthropic's Claude Console ‌to produce an initial draft and failed to adequately vet the results. The lawyer blamed tight time constraints for contributing to the errors.
