According to Pakistani media outlets, the train hijack by Baloch Liberation Army has ended and hostages have been freed. Top Pakistani army official Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that all 33 militants behind the hijacking have been killed. Over 400 people were on the train, with reports saying that around 350 were rescued.

"This brings the total number of eliminated enemy personnel to over 100, while approximately 150 more hostages remain under BLA custody," the militants said.

Ukraine has agreed to US' proposal for a 30-day ceasefire and immediate negotiations with Russia in talks in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday after three years of war. It added that US will immediately lift the pause on intelligence sharing and resume security assistance to Ukraine.

After a passenger train was hijacked in Pakistan by Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on Tuesday, the country's spokesperson said its security forces have killed 16 hijackers and rescued 104 passengers. BLA had reportedly said it took 214 hostages and killed 30 Pakistani military personnel. BLA sought release of Baloch political prisoners, forcibly disappeared persons and national resistance activists.
