A leakage was reported in Palghar's Mahim Kelva Dam, which has a capacity of 260 crore litres, following which around 1,200 litres per minute is being discharged downstream. An NDRF team has been deployed to evacuate residents of five villages, if need arises. "We'll cover the breach with around 300-400 dumpers full of sand," Palghar irrigation department's deputy engineer said.
