Kerala-born Joy Alukkas left school to help his family's jewellery business. Amidst govt challenges, Joy saw potential in Dubai's booming gold market and opened first store in 1988, launching expansion across the Gulf. Family dispute led Joy to rebrand and focus on India. He opened the world's largest gold showroom in Chennai (2008). It made $2.2 billion turnover in FY24.
