India’s first writers' village, Lekhak Gaon, has been officially opened on the outskirts of Dehradun. Former President Ram Nath Kovind, alongside Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Censor Board chairman Prasoon Joshi inaugurated the village. The initiative, designed as a space for writers, has a main building, library, museum and writers' cottage.
