Lenovo Group Ltd on Tuesday announced that it was establishing a smartphone assembly unit in India. With the announcement, Lenovo has become the biggest Chinese company so far to respond to PM Narendra Modi’s campaign to make the country a manufacturing powerhouse. The company has partnered with contract manufacturer Flex for the plant that will be opened in Chennai.
