The Supreme Court on Monday declined to initiate contempt proceedings against advocate Rakesh Kishore who threw his shoe at Chief Justice of India BR Gavai. The court said that issuing a contempt notice will give importance to the lawyer and "prolong the shelf life" of the incident. It stated that the matter should be allowed to “die its natural death”.
