Lia Thomas becomes first transgender woman to win NCAA swimming title

Lia Thomas on Thursday became the first transgender woman to win an NCAA swimming title after winning the women's 500-yard freestyle. The University of Pennsylvania swimmer won with a time of four minutes and 33.24 seconds. Thomas competed on the men's team for three years before moving to the women's team. "It means the world to be here," Thomas said.
