Life Insurance Corporation of India witnessed a decline of ₹1.45 lakh crore in its equity portfolio value within the first two months of 2025 amid market crash. From ₹14.9 lakh crore in December 2024, the value of LIC's 310-stock portfolio decreased to ₹13.4 lakh crore at the end of February 2025. ITC, LIC's second-largest equity holding, recorded an 18% decline.
