Supreme Court has ruled that drivers with light motor vehicle (LMV) license can drive transport vehicles weighing up to 7,500 kg. The verdict has been authored by the Justice Hrishikesh Roy and he has dismissed claims linking LMV drivers to increased road accidents. It also addressed disputes with insurance companies, which had been rejecting claims based on driver licensing.
