Male bottlenose dolphins with lifelong friendships age more slowly than solitary peers, a new study found. Researchers analysing skin samples and social data in Shark Bay showed strong bonds slow ageing at a cellular level. Scientists say friendship reduces stress, improves survival, and highlights that social connections are a key factor in healthy ageing across mammals, including humans.
