India emerged as the world's top arms importer in 2019-2023 with a 9.8% share in global imports, according to a list released by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). India was followed by Saudi Arabia (8.4%), Qatar (7.6%), Ukraine (4.9%), and Pakistan (4.3%). The list of world's ten largest weapons importers also includes Japan, Egypt, Australia, South Korea, and China.
