According to the Global Liveability Index 2025 by the Economist Intelligence Unit, Syria's Damascus is the least liveable city in 2025. This is followed by Tripoli (Libya), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Karachi (Pakistan), Algiers (Algeria), Lagos (Nigeria), Harare (Zimbabwe), Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea), Kyiv (Ukraine) and Caracas (Venezuela).
