Lithuania declares state of emergency after Russia attacks Ukraine

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda has declared state of emergency in country after Russia invaded Ukraine on Thursday. The state of emergency will be valid for two weeks and allow for increased border protection. It will also give authorities right to check vehicles, persons and luggage in border area. Lithuania shares its border with Belarus and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.
