Living near more trees can lower depression risk in seniors: Study

A 12-year-long Australian study of more than 1,000 adults aged 70-90 found that living in greener neighbourhoods with more tree cover was linked to fewer symptoms of depression over time. Researchers say increasing urban greenery could support healthier ageing and improve mental well-being among older adults. The research was published in the Journal of Affective Disorders.
