Combined efforts from the district administration, NGOs and local communities have revived the Baya River in Bihar's Vaishali and Begusarai districts. Heavy deposition of silt and the rapid spread of water hyacinth had blocked the flow of the river at several locations. Locals now carry out plantation drives and cleanliness drives around the river to ensure its flow.
