The lone Congress MP in Karnataka, DK Suresh, on Thursday, 28 March, filed his nomination from Bangalore Rural constituency for the 26 April polls. He is the younger brother of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. The BJP-JD(S) combine has fielded noted cardiac surgeon CN Manjunath, the son-in-law of former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, in this Vokkaliga-dominated constituency.
