Researchers at NIT Rourkela have discovered that Piperlongumine, a natural compound from long pepper (pippali), can effectively kill colon cancer cells while sparing healthy ones. Published in BioFactors, the study suggests a low-cost, safer alternative to chemotherapy, offering hope for treating advanced and drug-resistant colorectal cancer, especially in low-income countries.
