Long working hours may trigger body to store 'stress fat': Study

Long working hours may be linked to higher obesity rates by triggering stress-related fat storage, a study presented at European Congress on Obesity found. Analysing data from 33 countries, researchers said prolonged work hours can raise stress, increase sedentary time & affect cortisol levels. A 1% cut in working hours could reduce obesity prevalence by 0.16%, they found.
