A cryptocurrency token allegedly inspired by the 'Lord of the Rings' has been barred from operating after the family and estate of author JRR Tolkien brought legal action against its creator. The domain name set up by the token's creator, jrrtoken.com, was deemed "confusingly similar" to the trademark owned by the Tolkien estate, the World Intellectual Property Organization ruled.
