Chinese Grandmaster Zhu Jiner, who was fined $200 for wearing boots in the quarterfinal of 2024 FIDE Women's World Blitz Championship against R Vaishali, said she lost the match due to FIDE's interference. "The way this official enforced the rules was neither fair nor respectful," she stated. Jiner lost the match against India's R Vaishali 2.5-1.5.
