LPU students vandalise campus, set building on fire over viral posts alleging student's rape

Students of Lovely Professional University in Punjab vandalised university property and set parts of the building on fire at midnight following unverified claims that a female student was allegedly gangraped and had died by suicide. Around 2,000 students gathered near the girls' hostel to protest after the claims went viral on social media. They blocked the Jalandhar-Phagwara National Highway.
