Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi has taken over as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff (IS &C) of the Indian Army. He was the commander of the 9 Corps prior to this appointment. The General Officer also has the distinction of commanding the Rising Star Corps. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy.
