The Uttar Pradesh government renamed Lucknow's Hazratganj Chauraha to 'Atal Chowk' on the occasion of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's first death anniversary on Friday. Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said that a draft has been prepared to build a memorial for Vajpayee called 'Atal Smriti Upvan', which will have a statue of Vajpayee, his 51 poems, speeches and other memorabilia.
