Researchers at IISER Thiruvananthapuram recently used machine learning to identify anxious behaviour in zebrafish by analyzing subtle movement patterns in video. Automated tracking tools, like DeepLabCut and ZebraLab, enabled computers to surpass human observers at detecting anxiety. This approach could improve animal models for studying anxiety and advance treatment research for humans.
