Danish carrier Maersk is no longer the world's largest shipping company and has been dethroned by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) in terms of capacity. According to data compiled and published by Alphaliner on Wednesday, the Swiss-Italian international shipping line MSC has 4,284,728 standard 20-foot containers, 1,888 more than Maersk. However, both the companies have a 17% market share.
