Maharashtra government announced a one-time waiver of ₹48,000 crore in pending electricity dues for farmers. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the government already provides free electricity to farmers using agricultural pumps of up to 7 HP. He also announced that all pending electricity bills of farmers using agricultural pumps of up to 7 HP would be written off.
