Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday expressed grief after at least 17 people were killed in a building collapse in Virar East near Mumbai and announced an assistance of ₹5 lakh for the kin of the deceased. "We share the sorrow of all these families," the CM's Office said. The building was allegedly unauthorised and housed nearly 50 flats.
