Maha farmer earns ₹17 lakh/acre from ginger in drought-prone Beed

Nikhil Gaikwad, 27, has turned ginger into a highly profitable crop in Maharashtra's drought-prone Beed district. Using raised beds, drip irrigation and organic inputs, he harvested 290 quintals from one acre in 2025 and earned ₹17 lakh. He made ₹13 lakh in profit by selling from the farm to wholesalers and has now expanded to two acres.
