The Maharashtra government has formed a committee to probe the alleged ₹4,500-crore CIDCO land scam involving Shiv Sena leader and Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat. The allegations were made by NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar. He claimed that Shirsat allocated 15 acres of land in Navi Mumbai to the Bivalkar family during his tenure as chairman of CIDCO.
