An investigation by the Maharashtra government revealed that 2,289 ineligible women government employees were availing benefits under the Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana, state minister Aditi Tatkare said in a reply to Maharashtra Assembly. Upon identification, the benefits of the scheme were discontinued for the women. Notably, the Ladki Bahin scheme was launched in 2023 by Mahayuti government.
