Mahabharata’s Lakshagriha site to be turned into tourism hub in UP

The Uttar Pradesh government will develop Baghpat's Baranava village, linked to the Pandavas, under its Mahabharata circuit project. The state tourism department has sanctioned ₹1 crore for it. The site is associated with Lakshagriha, a lac palace built by Kauravas to burn Pandavas alive. Surviving ruins, dating back to 2000 BC, are preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India.
