Following site inspections in Chikuwadi and Eksar villages, the Maharashtra Mangrove Cell has ordered the removal of illegal encroachments and restoration of mangroves. The move comes after complaints of environmental violations, including landfilling and encroachments, within 50 metres of demarcated mangrove zones.
