Maharashtra may lower drinking age from 25 to 21

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has in-principle approved an Accenture report which includes lowering of drinking age from 25 to 21 years. The decision is prompted by the report which predicts a 100% increase in the tourist spend in the city. The report's recommendations also include keeping bars open 24x7 and the abolition of permit rooms and permits for drinking.
