The Maharashtra Home Department has issued orders for the complete lockdown of 5 prisons in Mumbai and Pune regions. These are Mumbai Central Prison, Thane Prison, Yerawada Prison, Byculla Prison and Kalyan Prison. "Prison staff will lock themselves up... and administer the prisons without stepping out," said Additional Director General (Prisons and Correctional Services) Sunil Ramanand.
