Chairperson of the Maharashtra State Commission for Women, Rupali Chakankar, has resigned amid a controversy over her alleged association with rape-accused astrologer Ashok Kharat. Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Sushma Andhare alleged that Rupali threatened several women allegedly sexually assaulted by Kharat. A picture of Rupali holding an umbrella for Kharat had surfaced online earlier.
