Maharashtra's Kaas Plateau has over 850 species of flowering plants

Maharashtra's 'Kaas Plateau', situated 25 kilometres west from Satara and a three-hour drive from Pune, has over 850 different species of flowers and even endemic butterflies. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 2012, it's commonly called 'Maharashtra's Valley of Flowers'. August to early October is the right time to visit the plateau as the maximum flowers bloom during this time.
