The 25-year-old folk singer, Maithili Thakur, who won from Bihar's Alinagar seat on Friday, has not only become the youngest MLA in the country at present but also the first MLA to be born in the 21st century. She contested her debut election as a BJP candidate and defeated RJD's Binod Mishra by 11,730 votes, according to ECI data.
