Twenty-five-year-old folk singer and BJP leader Maithili Thakur has won the Bihar Assembly elections from Alinagar constituency with a margin of over 11,000 votes. She is set to become Bihar's youngest MLA. RJD's Binod Mishra secured 73,185 votes while Jan Suraaj Party's Biplaw Kumar Choudhary got 2,275 votes. Thakur joined BJP just ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.
