At least five coaches of a Puducherry-bound passenger train, with approximately 500 passengers, derailed near Villupuram railway station in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. However, a major accident was prevented as the train immediately stopped after the loco-pilot heard a loud noise, ANI reported. Railway staff said that all passengers were safely evacuated, adding that no injuries were reported.
