In an emotionally charged ceremony marked by grief and pride, Subedar Major Pawan Kumar of Shahpur, who laid down his life in the line of duty, was cremated with full state honours at the cremation ground at Shahpur, his hometown. The heavy cross-border shelling by the Pakistani forces in Operation Sindoor in Jammu and Kashmir proved fatal to the martyr.
