Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) Conclave in Delhi on Friday. She exhorted CBIC to take further measures to simplify GST registration process, grievance redressal, and speedy closure of investigations for customs and CGST cases. She further emphasised the need for preventing tax evasion and wrongful Input Tax Credits (ITC) claims.
