Malaysia's former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad, 100, was hospitalised after suffering a right hip fracture following a fall at his residence in Kuala Lumpur. An aide said he was taken conscious to the National Heart Institute and is expected to remain admitted for several weeks for treatment and observation. Leaders prayed for his recovery after the incident on Tuesday evening.
